Champagne & Ivory Invite

Amanda’s sister had been a client several years ago, so I was thrilled when her mom called me to see if I could design invitations for Amanda’s wedding.

Amanda’s wedding colour was fuchsia, but she wanted an invitation that was more subtle, something in pearls and ivories.  And she definitely wanted texture!  At our meeting she fell in love with this beautiful embossed paper in pearlized ivory.  We paired it with a champagne pocket folder and a satin ivory ribbon tied in a bow.  For a finishing touch with added her wedding colour with a fuchsia Swarovski crystal inside the invite.

This gorgeous shimmery design is eco-friendly too, made of recycled cotton and 30% PCW recycled cardstocks.

Custom Map

Michelle and Cliff recently had their wedding at the Royal Botanical Gardens here in Burlington, Ontario.  For the invitation they wanted something to reflect their amazing venue, so we did a customized version of the Floral Band invitation in their beautiful wedding colours of fuchsia and green.  We found a gorgeous cherry blossom patterned paper in their colours as a great jumping off point for the design.

My favourite part of this beautiful invitation was the finishing touch of the map.  Michelle & Cliff’s map was a custom design made to show all the important locations and incorporate design elements from their invite.  This one had hits of fuchsia and a cherry blossom to reflect the pattern from the paper and their botanical location.

Maps are great to have when you have guests coming from out of town.  After all nobody wants their guests to get lost on the way to the wedding!  Maps allow you to show venues, churches and even hotel information.  We’ve tried to make it easy for our busy clients, to have beautiful personalized wedding stationery, down to the last detail.

custom destination wedding invite

Allison came to MDC Designs looking for destination wedding invitations.  She liked the clean modern lines of our Letter invitation but wanted something more fun and beachy, yet still a little formal.  She also had a lot of text due to her wedding away and reception at home.

We started our custom design with the Letter invitation as our inspiration.  To make it fit more text, we simply switched the design from landscape to portrait.  Then, we found the perfect paper to for our tropical wedding, a natural textured mulberry in a fun light aqua colour which we paired with metallic papers in deep teal and golden cream.

Allison's bridesmaid's dresses were navy, but she felt the colour was too formal for her invites, as they would set the tone for her wedding.  So, we decided to add her colour by printing the text in navy, with some great aqua highlights. Our final step was to add a thick ivory ribbon which completed the look and held the reply card and map together in the back.

We love these so much that a version will soon be added to our collection!
